About Philip:

Philip is a highly experienced science educator with over 30 years of teaching across a wide range of settings, including international schools and colleges. Having taught in three different countries — including five years in Africa — he brings a broad and adaptable approach to his work with students of all ages, from Year 7 through to adult learners.


He has spent many years specialising in A Level Chemistry and Biology and served as Subject Leader for A Level Chemistry at a leading Somerset college for a decade. Alongside this, Philip has extensive experience teaching GCSE Science and running targeted revision courses, including intensive Easter holiday sessions designed to boost student performance ahead of exams.


Philip tutors not out of obligation, but from a genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their progress. He takes great satisfaction in seeing students grow in confidence, deepen their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. His lessons are carefully prepared and tailored to the individual, with a strong focus on making complex scientific concepts accessible, engaging, and relevant.
