About Us.

Aspire2Shine is more than a tutoring service — it's a space where learners grow academically and personally.

We blend expert tuition with compassionate mentoring to help students build confidence, unlock their potential, and thrive in every aspect of life

Our Values

Nurturing

We create a warm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring concepts, asking questions, and taking risks.

Holistic Development

We provide more than academic tutoring by offering truly holistic support. Alongside subject learning, our service can include access to qualified counsellors, specialist assessments of need (such as ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences), as well as ongoing counselling and coaching. This integrated approach ensures that each learner receives the right blend of academic guidance, emotional support, and practical strategies to build confidence, resilience, and long-term success.

Mentorship

Our tutors go beyond curriculum delivery, acting as mentors who guide, motivate, and inspire students.

Empowerment

We equip students with strong study skills, critical thinking abilities, and the confidence to become independent learners.

The Guiding Light of Aspire2Shine Alison Stewart

Aspire2Shine is driven by the vision of Alison Stewart, a passionate educator with over 25 years of experience in education.

Having successfully led and taught across all five key stages, from the early foundations of Nursery to the pivotal transition into adulthood in Year 13, Alison holds a rare, comprehensive understanding of a child’s learning and development journey. Her experience spans the full arc of childhood and adolescence, giving her deep insight into how academic progress, emotional wellbeing and personal growth are interconnected.

Following her tenure as Senior Deputy Head at a thriving Oxfordshire independent school, Alison’s dedication to supporting young people did not diminish. Through years of academic and pastoral leadership, she developed a deep insight into the complex challenges children and young people face, recognising that academic struggles are often linked to confidence, anxiety, wellbeing, family circumstances, additional needs or a child’s belief in themselves. This whole‑child understanding became a defining part of her approach.

Motivated by this insight, Alison founded Aspire2Shine, a service designed not only to improve academic outcomes but to support the whole young person. Her ongoing training in counselling further strengthens this vision, reflecting her commitment to emotional wellbeing as a foundation for learning. Alongside this, she has developed strong links with reputable counsellors, SEND specialists and wellbeing practitioners across the region, ensuring Aspire2Shine can offer families access to trusted, high‑quality support beyond tutoring alone.

Beyond her impressive leadership roles, including Head of Primary, Head of Safeguarding and Pastoral Care, and Senior Deputy, Alison has worked with children aged 3 to 18, giving her a uniquely holistic perspective. This breadth of experience enables her to build a team of tutors and mentors who share her belief that children thrive when their academic, emotional and personal needs are understood together.

Aspire2Shine continues to grow from this philosophy: when young people feel supported, understood and empowered, they shine not only in the classroom but in every aspect of their lives.
